Voltron is are giant mecha robots featured in the 1980s animated television series Voltron: Defender of the Universe. The Voltron series was based on two vaguely-related Japanese anime series GoLion and Dairugger XV. The main plot of Voltron was to defend the universe from the forces of evil.

There are three forms of Voltron: Lion Force Voltron (Voltron of the Far Universe), Vehicle Voltron (Voltron of the Near Universe), and Gladiator Voltron (Voltron of the Middle Universe). The Lion Force Voltron is formed by combining five Lion robots, the Vehicle Voltron is formed by combining 15 vehicles, and the Gladiator Voltron is formed by combining three smaller robots.
